The Assistant Group Home Manager assists in the management and operations of the residential group home and supports the expressed preferences and desires of adults residing in the home. This role also assists in providing care and training for adults residing in a group home and aids in the oversight of the resident's schedules and weekly appointments. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors and provides direct care toward consumer wellbeing in the areas of medical, psychological, communication, social, and recreation skills
  • Supports family/community functioning, habilitation needs and IHP plans; assists in Manager in providing verbal and written reports 
  • Assists manager in providing training and supervision to staff as needed; provides new hire staff training in the house
  • Researches, plans and accompanies consumers to program activities, recreational opportunities, medical appointments or other activities
  • Administers DDD and Pillar policies and procedures promoting health, welfare and safety of residents
  • Provides safe and reliable transportation of residents; comfortable driving multi-vehicle agency van
  • Interacts friendly and respectfully with family members of residents, day program staff, and other professional consultants
  • Completing program reports includes but not limited to monthly reports, attendance records, incident reports, health service referral forms, filing, and vehicle checklist

The group home assistant manager is expected to cooperate with Pillar Care, the Office of Licensing, the Division of Developmental Disabilities, and the Department of Human Services in any inspection or investigation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree or High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver’s license with 4 points or less at all times (Cannot be provisional/probationary)
  • Experience in supporting individuals with disabilities; knowledge of various types of developmental disabilities
  • Ability to successfully complete Pillar trainings in required period of time and to adhere to DDD policies and procedures
  • Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle.
  • At least 21 years of age (Insurance Purposes)

Assistant Manager GH Westwood SCHEDULE: 

  • Sunday 7AM-3PM,
  • Monday & Tuesday 8AM-4PM,
  • Wednesday/Thursday 3PM-11PM 

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt, hourly wage employee, eligible for overtime
