Pillar Elementary School Opens “Amanda’s Play Place” Preschool Playground

Pillar Elementary School recently cut the ribbon for “Amanda’s Play Place,” a preschool playground for our youngest students! The playground was named in honor of Amanda Machemer, a Pillar Schools longtime student and daughter of Pillar Care Board Chair, Clark Machemer. “Amanda’s Play Place” was built to provide a space for our preschoolers to develop and grow in an environment catered to their needs. Activity on the playground provides therapuetic benefits such as strength and conditioning, while also leading to improved focus in the classroom.

Special thanks to the supporters of the Wheelin’ n’ Walkin’ Challenge, including the Machemer Family, Family of Daniel Grijalva, Pillar Care Volunteers, walk sponsors and school families. Your support of our mission is what allows us to continue to improve school amenities and provide the best possible support for our students. Thank you to everyone who came out to the event to help make it such a special occasion!
