To pursue projects that go “above and beyond” the minimum requirements, we depend on fundraising dollars.
Fundraising has allowed us to build new projects at our special needs school such as vision and sensory rooms, student medical centers, computer and media rooms, and a preschool playground. At our group homes and day programs, they’ve helped fund green space improvements, renovations, and volunteer programs like the Group Home Cooking Show and Brush with Greatness art program. All funds raised through these events go to the particular program’s Annual Fund and supports items that directly impact the people we serve.
The Steps to Independence Celebration is Pillar Care Continuum’s annual fundraising event held at the Grove in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. Funds raised at the event go towards strengthening our programs, improving our amenities, and purchasing therapy equipment crucial for the treatment of the people we serve. This year, we will be honoring Ronel Borner. Ronel is a Senior Vice President of Development at CenterPoint Properties, a national industrial real estate investment, development, and management firm. Ronel leads CenterPoint’s development strategy in the Eastern US, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Savannah, and the South Florida markets. Since joining CenterPoint in 2019, he has led the development efforts to deliver eight projects while expanding the company’s development capabilities.
