Many special needs families struggle to find an appropriate program for their loved one after their school day ends in the afternoon.
Traditional programs are often unwilling to accept individuals with severe disabilities or medical challenges or lack the expertise to offer meaningful programming to this population.
Pillar Care Continuum has designed unique programs with the expert staff and specialized facilities and equipment needed to support the educational, medical and social needs of individuals with disabilities. Our programs offer structured activities designed to help each participant pursue their personal goals.
For the younger children, the programs offer exciting, interactive activities that include both one-on-one and group activities, including:
Story Time Students will explore the fantasy of their favorite classic and modern books in the school’s all new children’s library.
Volunteer Projects Volunteers will coordinate group activities such as cooking, arts and crafts and music.
Recreation Students will be thrilled to explore a 2,500 square-foot accessible play park with playground equipment, gazebo and greenhouse.
For students ages 14-21, we are able to provide an experience tailored to the young adult. We focus on helping students complete any school assignments and also offer age-appropriate opportunities for socializing and learning, including:
Computer Lab Students will use the school’s new computer center, with 12 workstations, touch-screen monitors and fully accessible desks as well as cutting-edge educational software.
Interactive Technology Staff may use a variety of educational technology, including smart boards and iPads.
Recreation A full-sized gymnasium and an inventory of accessible physical education equipment allow students to play an endless array of games.
The programs operate on school day afternoons from 3:00pm-6:00pm. All After School Programs are funded through Perform Care.
